Dreamlike Wás

I dreamt I was doing a video podcast on candies that had songs written about them.  I was in the airport shooting a display in a shop of a Mexican candy called Wás which Café Tacuba had a song about.

It was yellow and round and waffle-like but crunchier.  With some gooey sugary carmel-like covering.

Hot City Inspector or Hot Water? Neither

I woke from a dream at four a.m. this morning:

The City of Houston plumbing inspector had been a woman, it was her last inspection of the day, and after inspecting the gas line, she started hitting on me. We ended up scheduled to have dinner at her place.

I also noted that the caps on the floor jets were flush with the floor and resembled man hole covers. [The actual caps jut out of the floor.]

About 7:30 a.m. the plumbers called me to inform me the inspector would be coming today, between 8 and noon.  I would be at work, so no hot-to-trot plumbing inspector for me.  The Roommate on the other hand got home at 4 a.m., and if he didn’t wake up when the inspector showed I would be none to happy.

I decided to go for a morning walk and upon returning saw the plumber’s van sitting in front of the house.   He had just woken The Roommate to provide him the same information I had received on the phone.   Fine – it meant I didn’t have to.

The inspector came several hours later, and gave the work a green tag, but asking that we paint the PVC emergency drain pipe.   It’s a bit ugly and that’s no large task.

One step closer to hot water.

Driving on the Moon

I had a very odd dream this morning.  My dad was driving a two-seater lunar rover.  He was telling me about the top speeds ever achieved by the rovers (80 mph).  We were passing a few dozen suited people who were working on the surface.  We were in a plastic covering and it was leaking causing the air to become thin.

Do you think the first cold snap of the season this fall, and huddling under my covers brought this on?

Elephants and Flying Scorpions

I was at a large outdoor park with moving stages, raising up 30-40 feet in the air. There were two elephants. A large one and a medium sized one. They didn’t so much move on their own, but were sitting on platforms that moved about. They were designed to look like large stones.

scorpionWhen the show was over people started walking about to other attractions. About that time I noticed a scorpion on a landscaping timber. It was walking about slowly. I stopped to check it out, see what it might do, and block others from walking too close to it.

After a few seconds of meandering about, it jumped off the log and started flying. Soon, it was buzzing about my head. I swatted at it, hit it a few times, it kept coming.

About then I awoke and there was the loudest mosquito I’ve ever heard buzzing about my room. It was four something in the morning. I couldn’t escape the loudness. I turned on the light. It took me a while, because it was also one of the smallest mosquitoes I’ve ever seen.

Smithville, Austin, and Dreams

gothic smithvilleSaturday I drove out to Smithville and had a fabulous time at Glover and Judy’s with fabulous weather and a nice evening swim in the lake. Drove into Austin and stayed at Mary Ellen’s.

Sunday was the Houston v Austin roller derby with lots more fun, convincing Bob Hewett and Bill Fergerson to come out, and hanging with the roller girls afterward (even though they lost to an amazing Hot Rod Honeys team) and actually meeting a few of them I hadn’t previously talked to.

The drive home was bathed in yellow wild flowers almost the whole way. When I get home I have two emails from different friends who had dreams about me:

Subject: Hello?

Are you OK? I dreamed you died last night, Continue reading
