Dear Senators Cruz/Cornyn:
Re: Confirmation of Todd Blanche as Attorney General
It’s absurd that Todd Blanche is being considered for confirmation as Attorney General. There are multiple events and behaviors that are patently disqualifying for this position.
- Epstein Files – Todd Blanche, as confirmed by Pam Bondi, was deeply involved in the partial release of the Epstein-Trump files, which included many illegal redactions and withheld who knows what. On top of that, being so busy protecting pedophiles, the DOJ failed to correctly redact many personal details about the victims. Additionally, his involvement in the Ghislaine Maxwell situation is damning.
- $1,776 Slush Fund – To have put his name on a massively corrupt theft from the US taxpayers should invoke investigation and charges. His being the head of the department that should do that leaves this to our elected officials.
- Pre-Emptive Fraud Pardon – The president’s crimes are numerous, even worse now that the captured SCOTUS granted him sweeping immunity. I don’t believe it will pass legal muster, but Todd Blanche’s attempt to provide a pre-emptive pardon for all financial crimes Donald Trump, his scions, and all of their businesses commit is outrageous.
Not only should you not vote to confirm Todd Blanche as the Attorney General, you should refer him to the House for impeachment hearings so that he may not be allowed to continue to serve as the Acting Attorney General.
Please stop behaving like a cuckolded Congress and use the power the Constitution and Texas voters granted you temporary stewardship over.
Your constituent,
Email response:
Dear Bill:
Thank you for contacting me regarding presidential nominations. I appreciate having the benefit of your comments on this important matter.
As a member of the Senate, I believe the federal government must maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct. It is essential that elected officials act in the best interests of their constituents. The Senate’s constitutional responsibility to provide advice and consent on presidential nominations is one I take very seriously. As a former Texas Supreme Court Justice and Attorney General, I have seen firsthand the importance of upholding the rule of law, which has shaped my commitment to ensuring qualified individuals serve in government.
I will continue to carefully evaluate each nominee’s qualifications, experience, and alignment with President Trump’s America First agenda. I proudly voted to confirm a significant number of President Trump’s nominees, who I believe reflect his policy priorities. These priorities include revitalizing the economy, strengthening national security, securing our border, and promoting government accountability and transparency. The Senate plays a critical role in the nomination process, and I will work to confirm more qualified individuals who are prepared to advance President Trump’s policies.
I appreciate the opportunity to represent Texas in the United States Senate. Thank you for taking the time to contact me.
Sincerely,
JOHN CORNYN
United States Senator
