It’s Out There

I tend to hop around and use a different computer at work each day. One of the previous computers that I’ve used was being used today by another guy, Jason. He knows Mark from the Fear and Loathing installment a few weeks ago.

He discovered the journal.

So now, a good number of people in the office have read it and everyone’s been chuckling. I’m sure Mark will find it at some point.

Jason’s read it several times today and has been quoting it. Apparently, everyone’s met that Mark.

I’m going to a 4-0 bday tonight. Mark will be there, nee-Barbara will be there, Mark doesn’t know it. Supposition is that nee-Barbara wants to make sure that he doesn’t crash on someone’s couch.

Time for a beer, the spectation is about to begin.

NYE FYI

I know you know about the NYE, Continental Club style – no cover, champagne, The El Orbits, the Allen Oldies Band…

And you know you gotta get there early because a line forms on that night.

An now you know that the overflow will be tailing into the Big Top. That’s right. 99% certain that it will be open, yet it’s front wall will still be unrazed. But, it will be open for business and fabulous hanging out overflow drinking.

Be there, or lose your roundness.

Fear and Loathing in Clear Lake

This one’s a doozie, don’t tread past the cut unless you’ve got some time to read.

Christmas night I went up to the Continental Club for the Handsomes show. It was crazy packed sold out, and understaffed. Luckily, they don’t have much material, so it was only about an hour of insane crush.

I was out till 2 a.m., had to work the next day. Slept till 8am, after hitting the snooze a few times. Stopped at the Fiesta for some lunch snacks, and the feed store for some dog food (empty bowl when I left the house).

Got in about 9:15 am. None of the doors were opened. Walked two blocks to Market Square, used the pay phone “local calls 50¢” to make a call to an 832 cell phone that was two blocks away, which is, of course, long distance, “4 minutes for a $1”. All I needed was 20 seconds.

A long day

Too much Jagermeister is bad for the body,… but I get ahead of myself.

I started early sunday at my sister’s opening presents with the nieces and my dad and step-mom and step-sis. Then the two older nieces, dad, and grand-dad went to the Texans game.

After a long saturday, I was more in the mood to hang out with my sister than to do legal work, so I hung out with her and watched the game on TV.

The Continental Club employee party was held starting in the evening in the new bar. Pete and Jack had been mopping and decorating for days, and it looked GREAT! It was so great to see people drinking at the bar and flowing through the space, even without the patio, which will be a great part of it. I can’t wait to get it open.

New, Holiday Work

After doing the heavy clerical work last week, I was back at the Big Top today, finishing up some of the wood floors, and planning some of the bar trim, meanwhile Pete and Jack got some carpet down on the riser that looks good, and Dave did some major cleaning and organizing to our scaled down and moved shop space.

It was to be some trim work and light plumbing tomorrow, but I rangled a job at a Law Office that’s in a crunch to file a bunch of stuff on Jan 5 – so I might be slightly more busy during the holidays than I’d planned. But I can basically set my own schedule, so I’ll still make most of the partys, even if I’ll be more reserved than otherwise.
