Since so many people enjoyed the last one, here’s the actual confection….

Several People have asked me about the LSR‘s route. It was two days, Fort Worth->Lake Ray Roberts->Dallas. So, here’s the route, roughly, listing the pit stop locations.
Day 1: 92 miles. Tarrant County College – NW Campus (on the loop in Fort Worth); Azle (Ashe Creek Park); Springtown (Optimist Park); Wise County (a Baird distribution warehouse on FM 51); Decatur (county courthouse/town square); Slidell (the high school); Sanger (town square); Lake Ray Roberts (Isle du Bois State Park/Deer Ridge Campground).
Day 2: 79 miles. Campground; Tioga (Renfro Realty’s property); Gunter (Morgan Center); Celina (park across from “the Anvil”); Frisco (Collin County Community College/Preson Ridge); North Dallas (Fretz Park); Oak Lawn (Oak Lawn United Methodist); Revershon Park.
So, that’s the route up into N Texas.

after installing awnings at the CC, it ended up that Steve W is getting married in a week, so there was a bachelor party…
We started at Brenner’s (edit: Brennen’s) Steak House. Had a large table outside under the gazebo. Totally nice night. Very excellent. Bob S. had preordered the wine, which was an amazing Cab – which I of course now totally forget the name of. It had to be special ordered, and our wine waitress was highly impressed by our choice (we gave her a small glass).
The food was AMAZING. Bob ordered a bunch of appetizers and side orders that were placed all over the table. The crab cake was AMAZING. I also had – lobster bisque, fillet mignon, and asparagus. Stuffed my face, was totally satisfied.
Went back to the top suite in the old Red Lion Inn, someone knew the people who bought it off them and we got the room for a song. Most the guys went down to Treasures for a while, I stayed in the room with a few others. We ended up there till 5 a.m. or somesuch.
My car’s still at the CC. Must pick it up today.

I wanted to go to the UT v Rice @ Reliant Stadium, but the seats were like $60. (I found later that Reliant paid Rice $2,000,000 to move it there from Rice Stadium – where we usually got end zone seats for $10. 50,000 x $40 will pay that off.)
But,… the Austin City Limits Festival had an amazing lineup for the whole weekend, and cost even less.
But,… I am the Sweep Crew Manager for the Lone Star Ride against AIDS, which is next weekend. I really needed to ride the route before hand (it’s changed bit), and other events had delayed me from doing so. So, with a thursday night crew manager meeting I figured I’d spend the weekend in Dallas.
But,… my step-grandmother died, so I needed to attend the serviced Sat and Sun in Clear Lake.
So,… I rode the whole route (7 hours in the car) on Friday. Went to the Rangers game that night with friends in from Chicago. Drove back to Houston on Sat morning. Showered and went to Clear Lake.
Then,… since I was down there, to a going away party for Hackster Bob on Tiki Island. He’s shipping off to Kuwait/Iraq for KellogBrownAndRoot to build a power plant. Sounds like guerrilla fodder to me. Hope he’s fine.
Back from Tiki to Clear Lake, then home sunday night. Long weekend.
Topping it, I smashed my left index finger with a hammer today. It’s my second best typing finger, too. It feels like an overripe grape.
