A friend recently mentioned Liz Dye, sometimes featured on Legal Eagle, has her own Law and Chaos podcast. I regularly listen to the former but was unfamiliar with the latter.
• Legal Eagle (YouTube, Nebula) – varies from legal pop culture issue in the news to political legal topics
• Law & Chaos – new to me, hosted by Liz Dye
I also like along the legal podcast vein…
• Amicus with Dalia Lithwick and frequently Mark Joseph Stern – it’s primarily about the Supreme Court, but the follow other national legal issues as well. They both write for Slate.
• Main Justice (previously Prosecuting Trump, MSNBC) with Andrew Weissmann and Mary McCord, both previous DOJ prosecutors. He was on Muller’s team, they both have good insight into the DOJ.
• Strict Scrutiny – hosted by Leah Litman, Kate Shaw, and Melissa Murray… three constitutional law professors, sometimes cultural references, sometimes irreverent and humorous.
• #SistersInLaw – hosted by Joyce Vance, Jill Wine-Banks, Barb McQuade and Kimberly Atkins Stohr – a variety of lived experienced makes this one quite varied. When things aren’t a total shit show (when they all agree), there can be some interesting differing opinions.
• Rational Security – From Lawfare.com, Scott Anderson hosts, Quinta Jurecic is a frequent guest. Usually three to five people total. Nominally about national security issues, but other legal topics will wanter in.
• Lawfare Daily – listening from the firehose from Lawfare.com

I, a non-coffee drinker, am half of a podcast called @JavaMuses – it’s not about programming, either. Nominally about Houston. Listen up!

New Stuff: Geologic
Stumbling upon new stuff can be quite enjoying. After hearing an interview with George Hrab on a podcast, I knew I had to check out his podcast and music.
I finally checked it out a few days after he released a quick-and-dirty video for a fabulous song: Out of My Mind.
The music really reminds me of Thomas Dolby. Perhaps his shaven head doesn’t hurt that impression. But the thoughtfulness and the clean production quality moreso points that direction.
I’m sure I’ll come to enjoy the podcast in my regular rotation, and may have a few iTunes album purchases in my future.
Jagged Little Clarkson
I got up early and rode my bike a few miles to pick up some Doc Marten boots offered on the Heights/Montrose Freecycle. I’ve been needing new boots, and now I have two “new” pair. Excellent. When the radio popped on this morning, it said it was 83 and when it gets a little warmer the showers will start again (they have). That kept me being prompt.
On the way back I was listening to a Slate podcast. They recently added a new category, they call “Mixing Desk”. This 20 minute episode was on Kelly Clarkson. Normally anything Clarkson, or generally American Idol, causes the bile to rise in my throat, but the first few Mixing Desks have been excellent.
Since she’s generally off my radar, I didn’t know she has just released a third album. She wanted to write it herself, and mostly did. She doesn’t like the style of her former albums. She had fights with the suits. Clive Davis didn’t like it. “You’re not supposed to, you’re an 80 year old man.” Presales were lesser than past sales and the tour stadium was canceled (I’d love to see her do these songs in a club).
She’s now being managed by Reba McIntire’s husband. Expect alt-country from this Ft. Worther next. I might actually listen to that.
