I called Lee back once, I need to again. Talked to the secretary last time. She mentioned the math teacher out with a long illness was getting well faster than expected.
Waltrip (34th & Ella) has an opening listed. I faxed my resumé over. If there like Lee it’ll take them a while to get things rolling.

Several People have asked me about the LSR‘s route. It was two days, Fort Worth->Lake Ray Roberts->Dallas. So, here’s the route, roughly, listing the pit stop locations.
Day 1: 92 miles. Tarrant County College – NW Campus (on the loop in Fort Worth); Azle (Ashe Creek Park); Springtown (Optimist Park); Wise County (a Baird distribution warehouse on FM 51); Decatur (county courthouse/town square); Slidell (the high school); Sanger (town square); Lake Ray Roberts (Isle du Bois State Park/Deer Ridge Campground).
Day 2: 79 miles. Campground; Tioga (Renfro Realty’s property); Gunter (Morgan Center); Celina (park across from “the Anvil”); Frisco (Collin County Community College/Preson Ridge); North Dallas (Fretz Park); Oak Lawn (Oak Lawn United Methodist); Revershon Park.
So, that’s the route up into N Texas.

’bout to leave town for the Lone Star Ride. always sleep deprived and working 12 hour days, but the weather looks good, so likely not to difficult to support. back on monday (after a full day of labor then as well).

last week, monday, i was planning on calling a bunch of schools, but first i checked the web site, and Lee HS was listed. i called them, the answerer asked around, yes, there’s a math job open, fax your resumé over, i did. i also applied online.
i called friend Jonas, who knows said principal of said school, he called, got the machine, left a message.
the next day the listing went off the “open” status, sure sign they already had an applicant and were just posting it for requirement reasons.
i didn’t hear anything; Jonas didn’t hear anything, the week passed,
this monday i got home from slaving at the CC (which i enjoy), and there was a message from Lee, call us, set up a time to inteview, tuesday i did, for wednesday, went today,
went well, i think, i like them, i think they like me, they invited me to call and sit in on the class (replacing a very ill teacher), i like the school, after i get back from long weekend of work i’ll call them and ask to sit in.
apparently there’s a hiring freeze causing them problems,

I was gonna spend monday calling and/or faxing schools about math jobs. I started off the day checking the web site and there was a new listing for Lee HS. I called them, the secretary asked around, they said they had an opening, to fax my resumé. So, I got to a fax machine and sent it.
Saw Jonas monday night. He knows the principal. Called to remind him tuesday morning. He called the principal, left a message. I noticed the listing was no longer listed. I suspect they had someone they wanted to hire, so they put it up on the listing (mandatory) before the hire. Neither I nor Jonas have heard anything about it.
Curses, foiled again.
