These umbrellas shade from the desert sun during the day, and can be retracted to allow the floor to cool at night.  Located in Medina at the Mosque of the Prophet. I love the architecture of it!  I think a few of Houston’s open areas could benefit from something similar.  I wonder how strong of a wind they can withstand.
