The Interstates and the HOV lanes are just deathtraps. We should shut them all down and be rid of them.

A pedestrian was struck and killed when he fell or jumped from the concrete HOV divider into heavy traffic on Interstate 45 North.

The accident in the 5900 block in northwest Houston just before 7 a.m. Monday caused a multivehicle crash that snarled rush hour traffic for more than an hour.

Police said the victim, whose name has not yet been released, had been standing atop the divider wall.
