X Files: End Games (s2 e17)

Summary: Great story continuance of a 2-parter. Scully taken hostage, traded for Mulder’s sister, who dies in a river. Then Mulder stumbles into the female clones who all look like the one claiming to be his sister. Mulder heads to the Beaufort Sea without telling Scully. Skinner sticks his neck out for Mulder again, while he finds the submarine in the ice. Scully arrives to help in the ER that the previous episode began on.

X Files: Colony (s2 e16)

Summary: Unconscious and narrating, Mulder starts the episode in hypothermia and sure of extraterrestrial presence. A bunch of identical green-blooded guys being killed off by another green-blooded guy. Then, bam! The return of Samantha Mulder. Raised by one of the alien duplicates. Episode cliff-hangs with Scully staring at DoppelMülder.

X Files: One Breath (s2 e8)

Summary: Scully reappears … in a coma in Georgetown. (Gillian Anderson still a bit bloated from recently giving birth). The Lone Gunmen read the medical charts with a grim diagnosis. Mr. X warns Mulder to quit looking for the truth. Skinner tells CSM not to smoke in his office. Mulder confronts CSM, but gets nothing.

X Files: Ascension (s2 e6)

Summary: Part 2, Scully is abducted by Duane Berry after they remove and inspect suspicious metal fragments from his body. Scully is subsequently abducted by aliens and/or the government. (a plot line necessitated by Gillian Anderson’s pregnancy) Mulder becomes suspicious of Krycek who disappears. Skinner reopens X Files.

X Files: The Erlenmeyer Flask (s1 e 24)

Summary: Episode starts with suspect fleeing police bleeding green then Mulder getting a call from Deep Throat. Deep Throat tips Mulder to government-run alien-human hybrid research. Season ends with Deep Throat being shot and uttering “Trust No One”, Mulder calling Scully in the middle of the night: “They’re shutting us down”, Cigarette Smoking Man storing alien sample in large Pentagon storage room.

X Files: E. B. E. (s1 e17)

Summary: Extraterrestrial Biological Entity.  Lead by a secret informant, Mulder and Scully trace the smuggling of a downed spacecraft and its occupant across the country.  This episode introduces The Lone Gunmen, some of my favorite recurring characters.

And for a light moment: “I think it’s remotely plausable that someone might think you’re hot,” Mulder to Scully.
