Jim Bianco, from Los Angeles, played Saturday morning at the Continental Club after the opening Allen Oldies Band, who cooked jalepeño pancakes. Tricia supported The Allen Oldies Band by being the guest chef. In her French Maid outfit, she cooked the pancakes, leaving Allen Hill to perform the Oldies.
Apparently, Jim Bianco, mistaking Tricia for her sister, Becky, who he apparently knows, walked past Tricia while she was cooking, and slapped her on the ass. And thus the introduction was made.
After that he had to invite her up to dance during one of his more burlesque numbers. He looks like he liked that decision. I liked his whole set, and think he would make ideal entertainment at the Big Top!
About the Allen Oldies, who packed the house at 10 am, Jim said, “Who would have thought that the toughest show of SXSW to follow would be at 11am?”

Yes, I knew they were planning on shaving, but I did not know they had. That’s why they were very happy about this shot which they want to use as a publicity photo. I’m not sure the original is big enough for anything sizable.

SXSW was good.
After I got into town, saw Nellie McKay at Waterloo.
Went to S. Congress, Hot Club of Cowtown at Continental.
Dinner w/ friends at the Boathouse - UT beats Princeton.
then spent the whole evening at the Continental, ending in Southern Culture on the Skids.
i’ll try to write more next week.
also 12/16 on round one, puts me tied for 22nd in the pool,
my dad has 15/16, putting him solely at the top,
three more days to go before the 1st weekend winner gets $42,
then at 3am, i walk into an unfamiliar house, having found the key, in the pot, and a made bed,
