		<description>Conveniently I didn&#039;t need to drive after the hurricane.  I used less than an 1/8 tank of gas in a week.  I never sat in a gas-line.  Of course I stuck to the freeway, but that&#039;s normal for me anyways.</description>

		<description>The surface streets I usually take to avoid the highway are substantially worse than they were before the storm, even with the lights working. I think your theory is correct.

Jaime told me a couple days ago her first guess on the traffic was that the HOV lanes are closed. Why carpool if you&#039;re stuck in traffic anyway? She said her co-irkers have been spending many extra hours on the bus, since it&#039;s on the mainlanes.
