Give Me Leopard

OS X Leopard DVDSo, last week I bought a new Mac. Last Saturday I ordered the “free” Leopard upgrade. Tuesday Apple informed me it was shipping. Today FedEx still isn’t aware of the package.

Lucky for me, we got our upgrade copy at the office today, and the boss (who was going to take it home and install) doesn’t have time, so I’ve offed with the copy and will be installing it as soon as I can shut down this browser.

I just got my copy in the mail yesterday. I find this upgrade a bit underwhelming because it doesn’t include updates to the iLife apps. At least iCal displays the current date instead of “17” when it is not running. I still don’t see a way to set an e-mail alarm that goes to anyone other than myself. HUGE disappointment here but maybe I just haven’t figured out how it works. The new mail app seems faster and the stationery/notes feature is nice. I still have to explore the new Finder but I already own PathFinder which is a pretty cool Finder replacement.
